Quality appliances are typically not a cheap purchase. You’re investing in equipment that is hopefully going to work for a minimum of 10 years without any kind of major hassle. However, it’s not uncommon for an appliance to require a repair at some point during its lifetime. When an issue comes up, you may be wondering which is the smarter option: repairing or replacing.
1. You Have a Leaking Washing Machine
If you’re finding water on the floor when you run your washing machine, there are a few likely causes:
- Overflow from the tub (common in older, non-high efficiency top–loading washers)
- A loose or damaged water supply hose
- A bad seal on the door of your front-loader
- A cracked or damaged tub (less common today in washers with stainless steel tubs)
While a leaking machine isn’t a catastrophic problem that means you definitely need a new washer, it sure can make a mess—especially if your laundry area is located on an upper floor or finished area in your home instead of the garage or basement!
A leak issue is the type of problem that won’t get better if you simply ignore it. In fact, leaks only get worse over time—and often quite quickly. At the first sign of water leaking from your washing machine, it’s time to call a reliable washer and dryer repair resource. They can help you assess and fix the problem with your machine.
Forwarded to these guys from Frigidaire for my dishwasher under warranty. Bob showed up in his time window, fixed the dishwasher with no mess and no issues. Took a look at our dryer and gave us an estimate, but didn’t push us on it and recommended we just replace it. He also gave recommendations on good brands and types, so bonus there. Bob was super nice, the lady I put my service request in with was nice as well. I would definitely recommend them.
